WAICHAPA RWANDA 5-0


Cote d’Ivoire maintained their winning form in the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with a 5-0 drubbing of Rwanda in their penultimate Group H clash on Saturday in Kigali.
 
Despite having sealed their ticket for the 28thedition of the continental showpiece football event, the Elephants paraded their regular squad to sink their hosts in front of their teeming fans at the Amahoro Stadium.
 
The visitors were up by three goals in the first half through Salomon Kalou and a brcae from Wilfried Bony.
 
Germany-based forward forward Didier Ya Konan scored the fourth goal on 68 minutes before Arsenal new-recruit Yao Kouassi Gervais “Gervinho” completed the goal harvest seven minutes from time.
 
By the victory, the Ivorians have completed a double over the Rwandans and scoring eight unanswered goals in both games. For the Amavubis, it is over as far as the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations is concerned.
 
Cote d’Ivoire remains at the summit on 15 points, 12-points richer than Rwanda, rooted at the bottom of the standings.
 
In Bujumbura on Sunday, Burundi will face Benin in the other Group H clash of the penultimate stage.
